A fairytale return to Santos by Neymar appears to be in motion with the Brazilian reportedly giving the go-ahead to a move in January. However, with the club now looking to sign Windass – who signed a new deal at Wednesday in the summer – for a likely sizeable fee, plans to take Neymar back home may have to be put on hold. Brazil's all-time top goalscorer is contracted to Al-Hilal until the summer and Santos may wait until his contract expiration to sign him.

Neymar was briefly announced as a new signing at Brazilian side Coritiba on Friday night. However, the Serie B side's website had been hacked and the news was not true – to the disappointment of Coritiba's fans. Even if this time it was fake, a move back to Brazil does feel inevitable for Neymar.

The son of Hull City icon Dean Windass has not agitated for a move away from Wednesday just yet but the prospect of playing in Brazil alongside Neymar could be tempting. He travels to Coventry in the FA Cup next week as Neymar continues his return from injury.
