The 23-year-old Belgium international sealed a move to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day, signing from Royal Antwerp despite interest from Aston Villa and several other clubs. Speaking in his first interview as a United player, Lammens admitted that once he heard of the club’s interest, there was only ever one outcome.

"This is my dream move,” he told . “When I was five, United were at the height of football. You keep in your memory how big Manchester United is. When I heard they were interested, it was like a childhood dream. The club alone, the aura of the club, it’s massive. Being here today, seeing it, it’s a different level. A big part is the stadium. You can feel the history when you walk into it. I’m looking forward to walking on the pitch for the first time and thinking about all the greats who have played there, especially goalkeepers."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Lammens has signed in the same summer that United have moved for reinforcements across the squad as they look to drag Ruben Amorim's side out of their poor form. He is set to compete with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir for a place in Erik ten Hag’s squad.
