Hodgson open to return to football despite health scareOff-field role interests 76-year-oldLikely to be strong interest for former England managerGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
The 76-year-old was hospitalised after falling ill during a training session earlier this month and made the decision to step down from the manager's role in favour of the incoming Oliver Glasner.
Now recovering at home, reports that Hodgson is already contemplating a return to the game and would be open to taking a consultancy role. The much-travelled manager will even consider offers from abroad.

Hodgson's second spell in charge of his boyhood club looked to be drawing to a conclusion before illness caused all parties to agree to part ways. But although there was concern in the football world after he was admitted to hospital it seems the indefatigable former England manager has recovered well and is already on the lookout for his next project.
GettyDID YOU KNOW?
Hodgson's remarkable coaching career began back in 1976 when he took charge of Swedish side Halmstad, leading them to two league titles. Never afraid to travel, his career since then has taken him to Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Norway and Finland before he returned home where spells at Fulham, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion led to his appointment as England manager in 2012.
WHAT NEXT FOR HODGSON AND CRYSTAL PALACE?
Hodgson would have no doubt been delighted when his old club took a valuable three points in a convincing win over Burnley in Glasner's first match in charge at Selhurst Park.
It's surely only a matter of time before the phone starts ringing and the veteran manager is back in the game.
