da winzada777: Scoring goals is serious business, especially when it comes to being celebrated as the top goalscorer in Europe.
da wazamba: The Golden Shoe is an accolade reserved for only one amid all the other Golden Boot awards across different domestic and European club competitions.
Robert Lewandowski's crown was snatched by Erling Haaland in the 2022-23 season, as the Norwegian bagged 36 goals from 72 appearances to help Manchester City to the treble. The likes of Harry Kane (30), Kylian Mbappe (29), Alexandre Lacazete (27) and Victor Osimhen (26) followed among the top five.
Haaland, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Lautaro Martinez were among the top candidates in the race to win the European Golden Shoe title for the 2023/24.
However, Bayern Munich's Harry Kane has emerged victorious in the battle for the European Golden Boot, having overperformed Serhou Guirassy, who led the charts for many of the season's early stages.
Here, GOAL brings you the exploits of the most prolific marksmen in European football.

Bayern Munich's elite marksman Harry Kane won the prestigious Golden Shoe prize for the first time this season. Despite the Bundesliga club's struggles in their pursuit of a 12th straight league title, the English striker has been in red-hot form since his arrival from Tottenham in 2023.
Kane found the net 36 times in his debut term in the German top flight. This means the 30-year-old has scored more goals than the number of games he featured in (34), as he broke numerous records during his short time in Munich along the way.

It’s astonishing that comparatively lesser-known name Guirassy still managed to feature in the elite pool of Europe's best goalscorers, given that he spent a large portion of the season sidelined for Stuttgart, due to a combo of injuries and travelling abroad for AFCON.
Stuttgart ended up finishing second, ahead of Bayern Munich, and there’s no question of who their star man was. The 28-year-old Guinea international scored 28 goals in as many games in the German top flight in 2023-24.

The name of Erling Haaland should never surprise you for someone generating crazy numbers in front of goal. Manchester City knew what they were getting in the summer 2022 and the Norwegian continued to live up to the expectations this time around, although he missed out on the European Golden Shoe award to Harry Kane by a long distance.
4Kylian Mbappe | PSG | 27 goals
The Frenchman has scored an average of 24 goals per season ever since his move from Monaco in 2017. With Lionel Messi and Neymar leaving the French capital last summer, this season was Mbappe's first (and last) in which he was the undisputed talisman at the Parc des Princes.
It looked as though this might be his finest season in the PSG shirt yet, but after announcing his intention to leave at the end of the season, head coach Luis Enrique started to regularly bench the star man during the final stretch.
