NFL icon JJ Watt will not come out of retirement to represent the Cincinnati Bengals again as he won his bet with goalkeeper James Trafford after Burnley conceded a goal in the Championship after 12 clean sheets in a row. On Tuesday, The Clarets picked up yet another victory against Cardiff City in the Championship courtesy of goals from Josh Brownhill and Maxim Esteve. Yousef Salech pulled one back for the hosts in the first half which finally broke Burnley's clean sheet streak. After the match, Watt posted a quick quip on X: "I don’t like Skyline Chili anyway."

In December last year, Watt wagered a bet with Trafford that if the custodian maintained a clean sheet for the remainder of the season, he would come out of his retirement to play for the Cincinnati Bengals. Before the Cardiff clash, the last time Burnley had conceded a goal in the Championship was on December 21 when they beat Watford 2-1. Despite conceding at Cardiff City Stadium, Watt's club continue to enjoy a dream defensive run as they have conceded only 10 goals in 35 matches, by far the best record in the entire league.
