Bayern Munich were on top form against their Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen during the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 as the Bavarians took a commanding 3-0 lead in the crucial clash at Allianz Arena with a brace from Harry Kane on either side of Musiala's strike. However, Vincent Kompany's side also had a bit of bad news after goalkeeper and captain Neuer had to be withdrawn in the 58th minute of the clash.

Kompany announced in his post-match conference that Neuer suffered an injury in the 54th minute of the clash as the German suffered a tear to a muscle fiber in his right calf while celebrating Musiala's goal. Reports from Florian Plettenberg have suggested that Neuer is set to miss three to four matches for Bayern Munich, including their return leg against Bayer Leverkusen next week.

Speaking to the media, Kompany said: "In this moment, I have no news about Manuel. But it's true that when he celebrated the goal, he injured himself. It looks like his calf, but we will have to see now."
He added: "I don't want to put too much pressure on Jonas [Urbig] or Manu. We have had times without Harry Kane, Musiala and Joshua Kimmich this season, and we have also played without Manuel, so we will just have to do it without him again.
"We have talent in our team to continue. This was Jonas's debut, and you could have easier matches, of course, but in the first months with us, he seems really calm and controlled in his actions."
WHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN?
Kompany will now have to contend without Neuer potentially for the rest of the month, and Jonas Urbig will serve in goal for the Bavarians in their return leg against Bayer Leverkusen next week.
